学习艺术并以专业画家的身份工作，导演张大勇在涉足电影之前，在广告和公关领域工作。 “街头人生”是他的第三部记录片，他说“我不能以我现有的灵魂从强大冲突的血的事实前抽身。最终我必须用强烈的主观解释来诉诸它，我们必须共同审查我们生存的这个社会。”

导演张大勇将与观众讨论这部电影，并回答大家的提问。

Recycling trash, begging, stealing & singing – these are the unforgettable lives of migrants living on Shanghai’s glittery Nanjing Road.

Leaving behind hearts and given names in their home towns & villages, they are drawn to the allure of Shanghai and the chance to earn a decent living. Ending up in the dark side streets off of Nanjing Lu, Shanghai’s largest shopping street, these mostly young migrants learn to hustle and scrape out any kind of living they can, constantly on the lookout for the police, thieves, or each other. Some manage to keep smiling; others break down under the violence and stress.

After studying art and working as a professional painter, director Zhao Dayong worked in advertising and publishing before getting into film. Commenting on “Street Life”, his third documentary, Zhao notes “I cannot shrink away from the powerful impact the flesh and blood facts have had on my spirit. Ultimately I must resort to a strong subjectivity to explain my times, and we must examine together this society in which we live.”

Director Zhao Dayong will be on hand to discuss the film and answer questions from the audience.
